About Ryan
Ryan works from the Santa Monica office of Focus Partners Wealth, helping bring clarity and understanding to clients’ financial pictures. During the pandemic, Ryan decided to make a career pivot from mechanical engineering to personal finance & investment management. His background in engineering informs how he approaches work today. Ryan is a natural problem solver with a talent for threading broad themes into actionable day-to-day guidance, and clients appreciate his open and honest communication style and effort to break down technical concepts into plain language.
His fascination with financial markets and passion for helping people gain peace of mind are what drew Ryan to his second career. And whether clients are navigating present life changes and immediate challenges, or contemplating longer-term retirement & legacy plans, Ryan enjoys helping them see the big picture and feel confident about their decisions.
Outside the office, Ryan loves taking road trips to the many National Parks and pursuing a quest to find the perfect cheeseburger in Los Angeles. When back home, he recharges with his dog, Penny–who never turns down a game of fetch, or a walk around the neighborhood, and who remains stubbornly unaffected by the many perturbations of the financial universe.
Education and Professional Milestones
-Rutgers University – studied mechanical engineering
-UCLA – Financial Planning certificate
-Previously worked as an engineer designing food production machines, and holds patents in both the US and the UK
