Barron’s 2026 Top Advisor Rankings by State was released in March 2026 for data as of 09/30/2025. Advisors must first pass a prequalification process aimed at verifying their experience and sophistication levels. Those who meet the prequalification criteria then complete a survey with more than 100 questions related to their practices. For this year’s survey, over 7,000 advisors submitted data which is then verified in regulatory databases. Barron’s creates its ranking based on a formula that takes into consideration three major categories including assets, revenue, and quality of practice. Barron’s also considers a wide range of qualitative factors including the advisor’s experience, their advanced degrees and industry designations, the size, shape and diversity of their team, their charitable and philanthropic work, and their compliance record. Fees were paid to Barron’s for use and promotion of the rankings, but not to be considered for the award.
